The Breeze Centennial Celebration
For its 100th anniversary, The Breeze, James Madison University’s student-run newspaper, wanted to celebrate its history with a special illustration. I created an illustration that combined newspaper clipping from every year the paper has been reporting news. The title incorporates different fonts from the various logos the newspaper has used over the years, creating a visual timeline of its evolution.
James Madison Center for Civic Engagement
I designed a graphic for the Madison Center, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating and inspiring people to engage in public issues and cultivate the common good in our democracy. The design incorporates recognizable JMU attributes and subtle flag symbolism to reflect civic engagement and shared values.
Madison Magazine - Talking Points
For this project, I worked on design and layout for Madison, JMU’s magazine, focusing on creating visually engaging spreads that complement the storytelling. The goal was to showcase university achievements, student experiences, and faculty research in a cohesive, readable format. I balanced photography, typography, and white space to guide readers through the content while maintaining the magazine’s polished and professional aesthetic.
Summer Sessions Postcard
I designed a postcard promoting JMU’s upcoming summer sessions, which gave me a deeper understanding of the significance of branding and the impact of small design details. The project focused on creating a visually engaging piece that clearly communicated key information while staying true to the university’s established brand.
